Solar eclipse

Why is everything saying to not look at the sun during a solar eclipse? Is it actually bad? Like I look at the sun during sunset and I’m fine.

@ru
Looking is fine, but staring directly isn'tFor solar eclipses, they exaggerate it just to trick you into buying those solar eclipse glasses. Looking will not hurt as the mainstream says.
Still, don't stare directly at the sun. It burns the retina (solar retinopathy). Damage can be permanent. You can get a blurry vision, central blind spots and you can see distorted colours. Mostly without immediate pain, because the retina has no pain receptors.

staring is good. very good. activates the pineal gland. there will be no lasting damage if you eat primal diet
@elliott85
Just ordinary daylight exposure and the day-night cycle regulates light and already activates the pineal gland. Staring at the sun adds nothing measurable to that.
And staring also risks retinal burns, so what would even be the point? -
