@Swansven I think his story is allegorical. It details like 5 different timelines that dont line up at all with one another. Im surprised anyone believes the stuff in the story were 100% real events. Like he was sick on his deathbed with cancer then immediately decided to travel around North America on a bicycle? Thats impossible.
And the part where he talks about being autistic in school and finding a girl to copy off of is a dead giveaway if you read it as an allegory. If you are a biochemist you can't effectively teach biochemistry to regular people because it is too technical (autistic) of a subject, so it requires somebody more personable (an actor/spokesperson) to make the information more accessible. This is how I interpreted that.
And yeah it would have consumed his whole life because of the circumstances. He most likely signed some kind of contract and when he disappeared that is when the contract may have expired.
I am not denying that he knew the information well, because in order to be an effective spokesperson you would have to be knowledgeable about the subject. He definitely studied it for decades.
