i have olive skin and when i tan its more of like a yellow tan than a bronzy orange tan, is the only way to get that eating more carrots?

Hi guys, I try to minimize the amount of time I spend outside because I have a huge fear of bugs. I barely go in my pool or hiking even during winter. I try to ground and even tan in my backyard, but the bugs (especially the ones that fly) scare me too much. Does anyone have any tips?
