Basically when you eat highly nutritious raw animal foods all the time your brain hedonically adapts to the food and eating it starts to feel bland over time even though when starting it felt amazing.
But consuming something different which is much worse tasting like super bitter green juices creates prediction error. Your brains model of "what food should be" gets violated in a bad way.
This contrast makes a huge difference. The brain compares how nasty the juice was and how satiating the raw animal food is and the result is craving for raw animal foods as its clearly superior.
This doesn't mean Aajonus was wrong but his reason why it happened just was not accurate.
So our body doesnt need green juices its just a tool to increase appetite for the real food.

@Rabbi this makes sense, the thing that confuses me is I’ve seen many primal creators on tiktok saying how refreshing and nice it is. It makes zero sense to me how it could ever be nice in any way, especially celery juice

ahh Yes, I have looked into the green juices extensively & all the trivial information behind it..
I'm still not doing it lol.
I just don't see the reasoning behind consuming something i never crave, I have craved every food Aajonus promotes But not the juices. Time to listen to our bodies.
There is also testimonials here and there of oxalate toxicity (yes, even though they are raw) from people who have done primal. So ehh... I dont trust them.

Refreshing doesn't mean nice tasting. I don't like the taste of any vegetable juice but my body craves it and if I don't drink it I become overacidic, I lose my appetite and my pee burns like crazy. Instincts applies fully only if you are truly healthy and don't live in a unhealthy enviroment.

@zygomidus so why is it that not every primal experiences this? I haven’t been on the diet too long, only around 6 months, but there’s primals that have done this diet for much longer and never needed vegetable juices
@veloman vegetable juices are not the part of the natural diet for humans. Aajonus said that it's needed for combating overacidity (from toxins) in the first years of diet or how long you need them for. But it also depends how acidic you are. Gradually you will reduce them until they actually start to over alkalize the body. It's not nourishing (well, it has some minerals) or food... It's only there to alkalize. If you lose your appetite after a few bites, if you have problems gaining weight, if your pee burns, if red meat doesn't taste as good as it used to, etc, then most likely you are overacidic. In the starting years, the body gets too acidic when detoxing for most people. The body can't regulate it's pH levels efficiently. So not everybody needs it but based on the balance of probabilities Its safe to assume you need it. Children growing up naturally shouldnt drink veg juice ofc.
