Does anyone else who lives in a temperate climate hate the winter? I just genuinely cannot force myself to go outside. Partially because I live in the suburbs and it's pretty lame outside. It doesn't bother me to keep my room really cold through the winter so that my circannual rhythm isn't hindered too badly and I support my thyroid very well with my diet, but it just seems so pointless for me to go outside. In the summer, it's a different story. I'd stay outside all day long if I could. But it genuinely seems so pointless to go outside in the winter, even if I know it's what I ought to do. This is basically the only example of my intuition being against my logic. Maybe as humans we always seek warmth and feel most comfortable in it. I plan to move to a subtropical or tropical region in the future so that I can be outside all the time. I've heard of some people who actually have an affinity for the cold. I just unfortunately can't relate.
Excellent health said something that resonated with me really well. He essentially said that if you look outside and the conditions there are not particularly conducive to sustaining life, then you might not want to live/stay there. There's a reason that the most biodiverse places on the planet are close to the equator. They're the most conducive to sustaining life. You have access to UV and warmth year round.

    Enjoy the raw milk

its fucking -25 Celsius outside, I have to rot inside. I go maybe few times per week in nature because its simply too cold. In summer and spring I basically live outside.

@Rabbi Yea it sucks because when my school is called off it's because it's negative 20 F windchill and I would never go outside in those conditions.

@Swansven personally I enjoy spending time outside in winter, especially when it’s snowing outside because then ya can play with it. But I still prefer summer much much more, really can’t wait till it’s warm in my country again ugh it’s so much nicer when it’s warm

@L204660 I enjoy the first month of snow but then the novelty fades away and it gets too cold
