I have an autoimmune disease called warm autoimmune hemolytic anemia. It’s a condition where my immune system mistakenly attacks my red blood cells, causing them to break down faster than my body can replace them.
As part of my treatment, my parents and doctors decided I should receive rituximab, which is an infusion that depletes B cells. B cells are an important part of the immune system and help fight infections, so this treatment leaves me immunosuppressed.
Because of this, I’ll likely be immunosuppressed for around 3–6 months, which means my body is more vulnerable to infections and I could end up hospitalized more easily than usual.
I wanted to ask for your thoughts:
Is it best for me to avoid raw foods and drinks during this time? Should I stick to only cooked foods, or are some raw products still considered safe while I’m immunosuppressed? -

Its a sketchy situation, probably consuming during this time some weaker animal foods like raw dairy is smarter and then after 3-6 months animal tissue. Do whatever you feel best still.
Have you eaten raw animal foods before this medication?
@Rabbi yes I've had raw milk which I love and raw eggs. Also tried having raw liver for 2 weeks then all of a sudden got constant diarrhea but this was 4 months ago and pretty much always have my ribeye rare/blue rare. I might just stick with steak bone broth and pasteurised kefir for now. Then add all the raw foods in a couple months. Honestly the worst situation I'm in
been craving raw dairy so bad. -
