        Yew wood is really good. Make sure to dry properly otherwise it will permanently bend

          I used to make many bows when i was young , I used thin rope about this size, and I would cut a flat screw driver like cut into the top and put the rope once through it and wrap it around , they would actually work quite well but they would snap from drying out in the European summer, try find the straightest trees possible that stay the same thickness the whole way
