There is a lot of debate around the backstory Aajonus gives in his lectures and books regarding how he got into nutrition and created the diet. It is well known that some parts of the story are difficult to believe and seem to be exaggerated.
I've thought extensively about what exactly Aajonus/the Primal Diet is as a phenomenon, and what gave rise to it, and ive come to the conclusion that Aajonus filled the role as a spokesperson for a team of scientists, doctors and biochemists who wanted to reveal the findings of their research to the public anonymously.
This is obviously contrary to what people believe about aajonus but there is a lot of evidence pointing to this theory.
For one, there is no way a struggling actor could conduct and pay for the lab experiments to create and test the diet, and let alone have it actually work. To do this from scratch requires extensive funding and inside knowledge and vocabulary from members of the medical industry who are unsatisfied with the results of mainstream practice and experiment with different methods of healing.
In fact, I think he actually did mention members here and there, just did not provide this context. He brought up Elnora van Winkle, a biochemist he worked with who passed away in the 90s or early 2000s
Aajonus claimed to have gotten into nutrition when he moved to southern California most likely in the early 70s which is where most celebrities live in the US. So I speculate while living in California he became connected with a famous director or another actor, who then connected him with a doctor who was a member of this alliance of researchers. The members were probably high level doctors who celebrities and other wealthy individuals go to.
I speculate they recruited Aajonus as a way to reveal their findings to the public and avoid persecution. We now understand how hostile the mainstream medical industry is towards dissent by what Aajonus went through, especially near the end.
If Aajonus was a DIY researcher and nutritionist with such controversial opinions there is no way he could have made appearances on national television and radio shows, which for the early 2000s was a big deal. This is evidence of Aajonus having higher up connections, which many primal dieters dont deny.
His death also factors in, as it is unclear if he was assassinated or if he faked his death. There isn't much in the way of proof or evidence for either claim seeing as there aren't medical records or even a death certificate. There is no proof that this man even died. Faking one's death would be impossible without the help of a network of powerful individuals, especially with modern technology and government surveillance.
This could have been his retirement from this role, as the targeting was getting worse and they figured that a good amount of info had been forged, so they may have faked his death or "killed" the character of Aajonus, while the human man remained alive in secret.
Sorry for the long post. I dont know if I'll get hate for this theory or not, but if it rains it pours I guess lmao. This is all speculation at the end of the day I am not claiming any of this to be fact, nor do I have inside knowledge on any of this. What do you think

This is really good. It truly is confusing how one man could be so capable. The fact that he was an actor before and also changed his name hints at this. For an acting role, this would certainly be overly ambitious, though. Maybe his story was falsified because they didn't want to reveal the actual origin of the diet. It's interesting to think about if he were simply an actor or spokesperson, where did his role end and his real life begin? His whole life seemed to actually be dedicated to preserving the right to raw foods and informing people about them. Perhaps he was only lying about his backstory and where he got his information, and he genuinely became dedicated to public health and the legal battles. Regardless of if he was an actor or not, he knew his stuff. Theres hundreds of hours of voice recordings of the primal diet QnA's and workshops. He didn't sound like a fool in any of them. I think if you were an individual health practitioner with access to this information, you probably would want it out in the world so that it could help people. I could wrap my head around Aajonus being alive still, because of the lack of evidence of his death. Who knows if the abduction and injections actually happened also, as there is no proof of that either. This is a very crazy idea but it could be close to the truth.

@Swansven I think his story is allegorical. It details like 5 different timelines that dont line up at all with one another. Im surprised anyone believes the stuff in the story were 100% real events. Like he was sick on his deathbed with cancer then immediately decided to travel around North America on a bicycle? Thats impossible.
And the part where he talks about being autistic in school and finding a girl to copy off of is a dead giveaway if you read it as an allegory. If you are a biochemist you can't effectively teach biochemistry to regular people because it is too technical (autistic) of a subject, so it requires somebody more personable (an actor/spokesperson) to make the information more accessible. This is how I interpreted that.
And yeah it would have consumed his whole life because of the circumstances. He most likely signed some kind of contract and when he disappeared that is when the contract may have expired.
I am not denying that he knew the information well, because in order to be an effective spokesperson you would have to be knowledgeable about the subject. He definitely studied it for decades.
