This is the one spot where I’m getting super confused. Looking at why rock salt is bad (isolated sodium is more explosive than nitroglycerin, ge/military bombxstory) and I js wanted to first lay out how I got stuck. So if I’m not confused the idea is that rock salt when eaten it isolated sodium into I’m guessing he thought pure sodium like na0 or he thinks na+ does the same thing But then whole food sodium stays bound and safe. I thought that sodium doesn’t really bond to food someway something like iron does like food sodium or na+ is already a free ion in solution. Salts ionic before u even eat it so ur js dissolving the ions that r already charged to begin with so nothing is changing i mean nothing is being created new. And how when dissolved the na+ from salt and na+ from celery or milk shouldn’t they js be the same how could the body tell them apart by source. So that leaves what I was saying earlier would be if salt produced na0 only way for that to happen is through downs process which is nothing like digestion or it could be blue halite which is salt deposits that have sat next to radioactive minerals for a super long time which then develop metallic sodium, but that’s way too rare, and the metal would react on ur mouth instantly or on any contact with moisture so it wouldn’t be blowing up in ur body.
I’m not tryna debunk anything I understand why u wouldn’t wanna eat salt cuz of the antibacterial properties in the first place it’s js this part that i don’t understand. I’m coming from a place of ignorance so if anyone could help me understand this that would be great

I do know that the dissociation to isolated sodium will happen with sodium chloride, which is in salt.

I haven't looked at different sodium bonds tho so idk.
