I've also heard people say that a strong metallic taste can indicate higher levels of toxins or heavy metals.

My lamb liver has a quite strong, noticeable metallic taste, although it also has a pretty deep, dark red color.

Should I be concerned, or is this normal? Would it be safer to source liver from somewhere else, or is the metallic taste not necessarily a sign of poor quality?

If there is no issues with the animal I dont see why you would speculate and worry with no proof. Go ahead and eat it

In other words, not getting sick doesn't necessarily mean the liver was ideal, you still carry the chance of getting sick if you eat the meat of a toxic animal.

@<bdi>klaudio_bosi</bdi> The source seems to be pretty good, probably the best that I can access. I've ate raw liver with the taste of what I have described and felt good but still I'd rather be safe than sorry regardless

Ease into it If you're starting eating organs and if you don't have much organ issues you don't need much organs in your diet. Unless ofc it's bone marrow or brain (from an toxic free animal) now those are OP with lots of fat

Its unideal but not sure about harmful unless the animal was clearly unhealthy
