Seratonin The central route : Serotonin acts on receptors in the hypothalamus that trigger the release of CRH. CRH then signals the pituitary to release ACTH, and ACTH is what tells the adrenal glands to produce cortisol. (From the Brain Seratonin pool), 2. Seratonin The direct route : Seratonin from the gut microbiome reaches the adrenal cortex and binds to specific Receptors that signal to start producing cortisol. These two pathways prove that it doesnt do anything to be happier so did I miss a other claim or did I misunderstood that a bad microbiome causes deppresion or unhappiness</p>
